About the Musical

Based on the 1993 film "Mrs. Doubtfire" which is based on the 1987 novel "Madame Doubtfire" by Anne Fine, it's a classic tale that everyone has enjoyed. With music and lyrics by Karey & Wayne Kirkpatrick, the spectacle's musical score has been highly praised by critics, and nominated for a couple of awards. 

If you think this one's just a live reenactment of the film, you're mistaken 'cause the musical comedy has been updated to be set in the 21st century. With pop culture references and technology that didn't really exist back in 1993, it's filled with new surprises that actually work well with the beloved tale. 

Mrs. Doubtfire kicked off Broadway previews on March 2020, but faced a halt as the pandemic took the world on pause for a while. By October 2021, previews resumed and the musical officially opened Broadway on December 5th. After 43 previews and 83 performances, Mrs. Doubtfire capped off its Broadway season back in May 29, 2022. 

Now, the musical is on its second North American Tour, and shows just started back in September as it runs through August 2026. This season features the renowned Craig Allen Smith playinhg the role of Daniel Hillard/Euphegenia Doubtfire—everyone's favorite nanny who happens to be Scottish. Joined by Melissa Campbell as Miranda Hillard, it's gonna be a wild ride as Dad, or nanny rather spends some quality time with the kiddos.
